Evolution is the change in traits of an organism throughout different generations. When one generation of an organism dies off, they are replaced by the next most fit generation. Evolution is souly based on survival of the fittest, because the organism that holds the best traits will be the one to still living at the end of time. With survival of the fittest, comes adaptation and if they can adapt well in the environment around them. Fitness is how well their genotype is passed on to the next generation. The more offspring a organism produces, the more fit it is. The fitness of an animal depends on the environment they are surrounded by. It is all based upon matting, their ability to survive, and produce offspring.
